Along with the quality lumber we supply ... installation is everything. Our experienced and friendly staff go above and beyond on every board we lay.
We use the Camo Hidden Fastener System so your new deck will look flawless. This system allows us to attach the floorboards of the deck to the support beams and keep the deck surface free of any visible fasteners.
Deck Renovation Project
The existing deck was in bad shape from years of use and weather damage. The deck boards were cracked and splintered, and the wood was rotted in many areas. We started by carefully removing all the damaged wood. Next, we repaired and reinforced the underlying support structure with new wood, and then installed new deck boards.

Premium Deck Materials
If you are like most people, you will want to ensure you are choosing deck materials that you are going to enjoy looking at over at least the next handful of decades.
The trouble with this is that there are so many different possibilities to choose from that you are probably scared to end up choosing something that does not look quite like you pictured when it has been fitted. Luckily, this will not be a worry when you give our staff an opportunity to help you.
As opposed to a number of deck builders, ours will inform you of different kinds of wood and let you know exactly which one will generate the look you want and which ones will have a marginally different visual appeal
We carry an extensive selection of deck materials for every single price point, which means that we have something for everyone.
When you are having a difficult time deciding which deck materials to purchase, AMS contractors have the knowledge and experience to help you find the most suitable deck material for your home and lifestyle.

Long-Lasting Brazilian Hardwoods
When it comes to choosing the material for your new deck, there is nothing better than Brazilian hardwoods, with an average life span of over 50 years they outlast ALL composite decks that try to imitate the beauty of natural wood. AMS specializes in custom decks using Brazilian hardwoods.
For your deck project, we take care of sourcing and purchasing the best quality Brazilian hardwood, and our extensive experience working with this type of wood insures a smooth installation process, and great results.
We offer seven different varieties of hardwood, including the following popular Brazilian Hardwoods:
IPE
Ipe hardwood is olive-brown with lighter or darker streaks. Grain is straight to irregular with a low to medium luster. The pores appear as fine yellow dots and contain yellowish lapachol powder which turns deep red in alkaline solutions. Texture is fine and appears oily. Fine ripple marks may be present.
Weight varies between 60 lbs to 75 lbs per cu. ft.
Kiln dried Ipe is for interior use.
Kiln dried lumber outside will expand.
Air dried Ipe is for exterior use.
Air dried lumber inside will shrink.
Tigerwood
Tigerwood is gaining popularity among high-end designers. And for good reason too; this Brazilian Hardwood decking material is by far the most visually appealing option available. It offers an immediately exotic look that looks great all year round. Instead of settling for a plastic deck that mimics the look of Tigerwood, why not get the real thing?
Tigerwood is also an eco-friendly decking option that doesn't compromise of durability. With a Janka hardness rating of 1850, a Tigerwood deck excels in all climates and can take the summer heat and the bitter cold better than any composite material.
Cumaru
Cumaru decking originates from Brazil and is the preferred Cedar decking alternative many professionals recommend. With a Janka hardness rating of 3540, Cumaru is one of the strongest woods in the world. Cumaru has qualities that are vastly superior to many other decking materials.
Cumaru (aka Brazilian Teak, Dipteryx Odorata, Almendrillo, Tonka, and Tonquin Bean) creates that carefree, inviting outdoor space you crave.
It has a 50+ year lifespan without preservatives! Our Cumaru decking is responsibly harvested from managed forests to provide a truly renewable resource. Cumaru has many benefits over teak and is available at a fraction of the cost
Garapa
Known as the "golden decking", Garapa is the most lustrous Brazilian hardwoods available. When you choose Garapa decking material, you'll be creating a personal oasis that you can escape to any time of the year.
Check out the technical information on Garapa , to see why it's one of most popular hardwood decking options. With a Janka hardness rating of 1210, Garapa is many times harder than both California Redwood and Cedar. It also has natural slip and scratch resistance so you know it will be safe for those of us who like to walk outside barefoot. And, unlike composite decking, Garapa doesn't need constant chemical treatments or maintenance to withstand mold and decay. Garapa prices are also more affordable than even the best brands of plastic decking.
Are you ready to start building your outdoor oasis?
Massaranduba
Brazilian Redwood, or Massaranduba, is one of the most vibrant decking materials out there, and is several times stronger than its domestic counterpart. That means less maintenance and more enjoyment, all bundled in a luxuriously attractive package! On top of that, Massaranduba is very affordable.
