Two old men, Maxie and Buzz, have lived in the same neighborhood all their lives and now meet daily in the park to discuss old memories, the passage of time, and why birds no longer come to the park. Although the more aggressive Buzz tells Maxie it's a waste of time to live in the past, we later discover that he has similar feelings.
